Thomas Atum O’Kane
October 26 – 28, 2012 (Friday, 7:30 p.m. to Sunday, 3:00 p.m.)
Light on the Hill Retreat Center
Van Etten, New York
The Sufi tradition refers to a beautiful image of a precious jewel–the hidden treasure–to convey the goal of the spiritual quest. In that godly treasure are many priceless archetypical gems. The precious Jewel of Discernment is an alchemical stone that can illuminate every facet of our journey. It is the gift that helps us discern the true voice from the many others demanding attention in our psyches.
Through teachings, meditation practices, stories, and creative exercises, we will explore:
- Ways of developing and practicing discernment
- The value of sorting out the layers and levels in meeting the issues, problems, and choices in our journey
- The center role of our inner light of insight and its capacity to bring clarity to our mind and heart, while dissolving the suffering of confusion, doubt, and ignorance.
