Inhabiting our Bodies
The Sacred Journey of Women
One-day Retreat for Women
Saturday, January 5th (9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.)
Meadow Cottage
Light on The Hill Retreat Center
Led by Dalya Tamir
The retreat will be a tapestry of silent meditation periods, song, dance, and sharing circles. We will explore our relationship to our bodies as a personal journey and as a collective experience. As a community we will challenge myths, misconceptions, thoughts, and beliefs about size, shape, color, and age. We will celebrate curves, curls, gray hair, and wrinkles as well as skinny, flat, and tall.
We will embrace pleasure and pain, health and illness, youth and aging. As we explore our life cycles we will look at patterns of mind and heart that keep us from being whole. We will use mindful awareness and loving kindness to transform separation from our bodies into intimacy and joy.
Cost: $40 to cover lunch, the use of the space, and incidental expenses. Following the Buddhist tradition, teachings are offered freely, the community in return supports the teachers. Donations will be accepted at the end of the retreat. Suggested donation: $25-$50.
