Join us for a six-day silent meditation retreat over New Years 2014/2015.

The retreat will flow from periods of sitting meditation (on cushions or chairs) to walking meditation to several periods of yoga practice each day. The style of yoga offered is viniyoga, a style grounded in awareness of the breath and physical movement that flows out of that breath awareness. Beginners to yoga and meditation are very welcome!

The retreat will include yoga and meditation instruction, dharma talks, chanting and opportunities for group and private talks with the teachers, and there will be time for walks in the woods at the Center.  We will have a silent work period of about an hour each day to support the life of the retreat. We will also have several non-denominational rituals on New Years Eve. Chairs, some meditation cushions and some yoga mats are available at the Center, but if possible, please bring your own cushion and yoga mat.

Cost

The cost of the retreat is $590, which covers the expenses of putting on the retreat. This increase in the cost over last year is due to the extra day and also a slight increase in the cost of rooms at LOH. A basket will be put out at the end of the retreat for a donation (dana offering) to the teachers and our volunteer cook.  To sign up, send a $100 deposit to Jeff Collins at 312 First Street, Ithaca, NY 14850, along with your name, address, phone number and email. Deposits will not be refunded if you cancel less than 14 days prior to the retreat. If you have questions, call Gisela or Jeff at 607-273-5464, or email us at jfgisela@lightlink.com.
