Transforming Conflict as Spiritual Practice
Saturday, November 2 – Sunday, November 3
Optional Friday Night Stay
Light on the Hill Retreat Center
Van Etten, New York
Retreat Leader: Rev. Jeff Shepardson
Conflict. It’s everywhere. But conflict is usually unpleasant, unsettling and disruptive and something we do our best to avoid (which usually only ends up making things worse). The good news is that conflict is also a potential doorway to restored relationship and community, improved communication, deeper understanding and powerfully effective collaboration and problem solving. As such, the work of transforming conflict should rightly be seen as a profoundly spiritual practice for people of faith.
St. Paul’s United Methodist Church’s Adult Spiritual Growth Team would like to invite you to join us for this retreat, where we will explore the experience of conflict, the theological foundations of conflict transformation, as well as the tools used to support that transformation at home, at work, at church — wherever we go!
Don’t miss this opportunity to explore together and in depth the blessed activity of peacemaking.
