Experiencing God

in Nature and Scripture

September 29th from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

With Brian Barclay

Light on the Hill Retreat Center

Van Etten, New York

While these rich media are most often enjoyed separately, the illustration of creation and the text of Biblical scriptures speak beautifully together. Join us as we listen and look for God, the living One who spoke them both into existence and still speaks through them now. We will be attentive to God through outdoor solitude, Lectio Divina (ancient practice of listening to scripture), group interactive experiences and discussions, and personal reflection.  Lunch is included.

Brian Barclay has been leading adventure-learning experiences for over two decades. He is currently a lead facilitator, program designer and trip leader with Cornell Outdoor Education’s challenge course. His Bachelor degree is in Wildlife Management/Ecology and his spiritual direction training is with Leadership Transformation’s Selah program. He has had fifteen years of vocational ministry at college campuses and churches and has extensive training and experience leading wilderness trips and experiential learning programs. His favorite experiences are leading group adventures that help restore the relationship with ourselves, each other, the Creator, and nature.
